This Privacy Policy explains how Distance Measurement ("the App", "we", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application on Android.
We believe your personal data belongs to you. Distance Measurement is designed to perform map measurements, distance calculations, and area calculations directly on your device with minimal data collection and no tracking of your identity.
The App requests access to your device's location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION) solely to:
Your location data is processed entirely in real-time on your device. We do not transmit, track, store, or sell your location coordinates on any external server. Location access is optional, and the App can be used without granting location permissions.
Routes, markers, and measurements that you create are stored locally on your device's internal storage. When you choose to export a route as a GPX file or share it, the file is transferred only to the destination or application you explicitly select.
To provide terrain elevation profiles, coordinate pairs of your route points are queried anonymously from the open elevation service (Open-Meteo). No personal identifiers or device IDs are attached to these elevation queries.
We use Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand general app usage trends and resolve software bugs or crashes. These services collect anonymous diagnostics such as device model, OS version, and crash stack traces. No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected.
We use Google AdMob to serve rewarded video ads that allow users to optionally unlock premium features temporarily for free. Google AdMob may collect and process pseudonymous identifiers (such as the Google Advertising ID), device information, and ad interaction metrics to serve ads, prevent fraud, and comply with ad delivery standards. For more information, please visit Google's Advertising Privacy Policy.
Purchases for the optional PRO upgrade are processed exclusively through the official Google Play In-App Billing system. We never see, collect, or store your credit card details or financial information.
The App relies on trusted third-party service providers subject to their respective privacy policies:
The App does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take appropriate measures.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
